WebA carb for a car is mainly designed to be kept flat. The fuel being sucked up is held in the "bowl" of the carburetor, the level of fuel in the bowl is kept constant by a float and a needle valve. Having the car titled could throw off the float and the fuel level likely won't be optimal for getting sucked up and turned into a mist. Just my guess.
