If the fuel pump doesn't prime, then there is a capacitor inside the ecu that goes bad, and takes out the incoming 12V for the ecu, so it never really powers up. Take the cover off and smell for a nasty fishy smell = blown capacitor. WebAug 10, 2011 · With VTEC-E, 1 intake valve is closed at low rpms. At a certain RPM (somewhere between 2000-3000 RPMs), VTEC-E will engage and open the other intake valve. If you tried to use a P28, you'd be running with 1 intake valve open until VTEC engaged at around 4000-5000 RPMs. That would kill your performance.
